Swimming - August 26

Today I took my niece Saige swimming to the new Payson Pool, And yes I forgot my camera. So the only picture I could find on the Internet of it was the "construction plan version" It doesn't really do it justice b/c it looks lots more colorful and fun in real life, but you'll get the idea. It was so much fun, it has a lazy river that saige really like running around in and also two big waterslides and a kiddie pool which we didn't spend much time in. It was fun to take saige and also fun to get away for a while without the baby while daddy tended.

FAMILY NEWS

Well we have all been dying to find out if my sister is going to have ANOTHER set of twins and the news was finally confirmed yesterday at an ultra sound. Cher is officially having ANOTHER set of twins. Can you believe it? Everyone is in shock because she was done having kids so to add two on top of that is just unreal. We all are just in disbelief and especially Cher. She has been so sick she can't even drive or work or anything so deep down she has kind of known but she had convinced herself that it was only one!!!! Kind of crazy news now but when it all sinks in it will be so fun. This will make the 9th and 10th grand kids for grandma and grandpa. The family is growing like weeds. Congrats Cher and Skinny. ;) We can't wait to meet them.

Davin's Update - August 19

I can't believe it... Another month has gone by and Davin is now 2 months old. Time is really flying. We had his 2 month checkup and he weighs a whopping 12 lbs. He is really starting to get the rolls. His dad is a little disappointed though because he is only in the 35th percentile for height but the dr said boys can have growth spurts until they are one so we won't really be able to tell how tall he will be yet. He got his shots today too. They haven't even bothered him. He even slept really well through the night. We are so lucky to have such a good baby! He hardly ever crys. He is finally smiling for reals now. He will play with his dad and smile and laugh it is so cute :) We are having so much fun being parents and watching him grow. It's hard to imagine what life was like without him .

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Davin after he was born.

Lazy Saturday - August 16

Today was a pretty lazy day. Steve didn't work on the farm so we all got to sleep in together ( If you call sleeping in waking up at 3 , 4:30, 6:00, and 7:30) but we tried. I wanted to get the house cleaned up without interruptions, so I asked Steve to take care of Davin this morning while i got things done.. This is what happens when daddy tends........
Davin likes it when daddy tends because they get to just hang out in pj's and play.

Then tonight we went for a little ride up payson canyon and walked up to the devil's kitchen. we tried to get some good pictures but Davin wasn't happy that he got woke up.

BBQ @ the Sandhill

Steve's parents have some property in Goshen where we like to go spend time with his family. They have planted a huge lawn for all the kids to play on, there are horse shoe pits, a bbq, a swing set, and we all keep our camp trailers out there that we try to sometimes go out and stay in. It is so pretty in the evenings when the sun is setting. Last night we barbequed with His parents and Dave and Laura and their girls. The boys had to do a little work because they are getting ready to build a new building out there which will be so nice. Grandma has one of those little tikes outdoor swings hanging up and we found that Davin really loves to swing. Grandpa put him right to sleep pushing him.

Maizy's 3rd Birthday

My Neice Maizy just had her 3rd Birthday Party. We went to my sister's house and had a bbq with some friends and family. Maizy got tons of cute gifts including a Cute chair that one of their friends made and a cute pillow that her grandma snow made for her with her picture on it.

While I was at the party I was realizing just how many talents my sister Shayla has. She can do anything so I thought I would show some of this pictures to show you a few of them.

This is the the cake that she made maizy all out of marzipan, She cut out every little paisley and made all different colors of marzipan for the flowers and decorations on it, the inside was even layered colors of cake. This was her first time using marzipan, she wouldn't tell us how long it took her though ;) She can pull anything off that she trys. Especially when it comes to cooking.

this is a picture of some of her flower beds she has such a green thumb, I didn't get a picture of her garden but it is huge too.

This is one of the zinnias in her yard. you can't really tell how big it is from the picture but it is huge!!!!

Sorensen Brother's Annual Uintah Pack Trip

Steve and his brother's have started a tradition packing into the uintahs every summer. Every year it seems to get a little more extravagant. Steve's pack was around 100 lbs we aren't really sure cuz it broke the scale. He is nuts!! He had everything under the sun in his pack including snorkel gear and 6 packs of frozen steaks. The pictures they took were so pretty. There is so much pretty scenery that I guess it makes up for all the hiking. I am not sure all what goes on on these trips but here are some pictures to capture some of it.....

All the boys.

Steve diving/flying off a rock, looks like cold water but he said "you get use to it"

Steve was quite proud of their "tree chopping" skills so I thought I would include these photos This is the before picture. (They only used a small ax/hatchet to chop it down. )

Almost there...

All the proud men after...

Every year I am just thankful Steve comes home safe and alive at the end of the week after all the stories I hear and seeing what kind of a pack he hauls in... Glad it's a guy thing. A little too much packing and hiking for me but it seems like they always have tons of fun.

My Birthday - August 1st

I can't believe it is already August. I just celebrated my 22nd birthday. I never thought I would already have a kid at 22 but I am loving it! Steve took the day off at the farm and took me out shopping and to lunch at cafe rio. He had also bought me a tanning pass and a few other little gifts that he let me open that morning. After shopping we went to heber to the fair and rodeo. My sister had a purse and jewelry booth there so the whole family was up to my parents hanging out. I was wanting to go to baja cantina in park city for dinner but we didn't make it so we went the next day for lunch. It was such a busy day that we didn't even end up having cake and Ice cream until like 11:00 pm. It was a fun day and I am so glad I have a cute family to spend it with. Steve took the camera with him to his annual Uintah's trip with his brothers so I will post the pictures when he gets back later this week. That is if my camera makes it back ;)
