Day 6 update

Mom has been doing physical therapy twice a day to get her up an moving around. She still has her tube in her that drains the fluids from her lungs that they are monitoring very closely …Getting the tube removed will be our next major goal for the road home- She got out of ICU yesterday which was great progress but a little scary because all of the monitors didn’t go with her, instead we rely on nurses to come in to check her vitals every so often. Which they have been doing an excellent job .. but the monitors were a big comfort! The pain seems to be mostly under control. the epidural is helping with her back and ribs a ton.. the collar bone, wrist, and skull/face are the most painful now because the epidural is taking care of the rest. She has been resting as much as possible but worried about the long term of things. The support we have received has been so amazing. thank you to everyone who has come to visit  me cher shay and dad and support us and for all the kind cards, flowers and treats you have brought!

In shayla’s words…..

"She has been very hesitant to let people in and see her. She finally looks better. Her face has been very black and not a good sight for most. She is looking better each day though. She hasn't seen her self which is a good thing.”

so for mom’s sake I will spare you the black eyed pictures of her. for those of you that have been asking, here is the rock she fell off. She fell off of the one right in the center of the picture that kind of looks like a little overhang.
